We were in kindergarten, Mrs. Mallory had us busy making Santa faces, snowflakes, and little decoration treasures to take home. One item we made were construction paper mittens with yarn connecting the left to the right. We had our names written on them in glue and sparkles. Benny gave me his and pronounced that we were now boyfriend/girlfriend. I loved those mittens that he gave me!
I remember going to Benny's house after school to play cards - I think it was bridge but might have been Euchre. Don't remember which day it was but we did for a few months! Lots of fun.

Ben was part of our "friends' trio" when I played with Sue Baum on Granger Street. He was fun and a gentle soul. He is gone too soon.
